The CarbonZero Federation was created, and is run, by co2balance.com. The purpose of the Federation is to bring together companies that have taken positive action to offset either their company, product or a service.
The Federation therefore provides a directory of companies and services that have climate awareness built in.
Each CarbonZero client has their own section on the website, providing an overview of the company, as well as contact details and their logo.

co2balance.com works with business and individuals to reduce their contribution to climate change and market this ethos to the public. We calculate the carbon footprint of clients, offer advice to reduce this amount, and then invest funds to ethically offset the remaining emissions.
The services that we offer clients include -
When a client reaches CarbonZero status for all or part of its business, we make available a range of materials for that client to use in marketing, websites, PR and other channels to inform its customers that it has reduced or eliminated its impact on climate change, or provided methods for its customers to do the same.
co2balance.com is unlike any other provider of Voluntary Carbon Offsets as all its projects are fully additional, transparent and verified and retain full direct control of all our offset projects.
Carbon Offsetting works by investing funds to absorb or prevent the emission of a tonnage of CO2 equivalent to the client’s unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions. This is done by investing in projects that save energy emissions (efficiency-based offsets) or that absorb atmospheric CO2 (forestry-based offsets).
We will be the first to accept that Carbon Offsetting is not the complete answer to global climate change BUT we strongly believe that it has an important part to play while new technologies are introduced and become widespread and while new behaviours and altered (low carbon) lifestyles become commonplace. Some environmental organisations believe that we should all stop flying, use only public transport and buy only seasonal, local food. These are legitimate enough aims (although not without ancillary impacts like the loss of tourist pounds to some of the world’s poorest places) but people will not make these changes overnight; we need to support people in their transition towards low carbon lifestyles (sooner rather than later, admittedly). We see Carbon Offsetting as a high profile way to raise awareness and to help people start that journey.
