Frogs at risk due to climate change

Over half of the Europe’s frogs, toad and newt species are risk due to the impending changes to our climate, the lose of habit and the spread of disease.
The new findings from the Zoological Society of London have predicted that this lose will take place by the middle of century.
The warming winters in southern England are affecting the hibernation of toads, which in turn is making them use more of their energy reserves. This is making them weaker when they emerge from winter, and thereby putting their survival at risk.
The report highlighted the growing threat of climate change, and went as far as suggesting that captive breeding programmes were needed in order to save some species from extinction.
