Our energy efficiency projects are all based in Africa, and include working with local social groups to supply them with energy efficient cooking stoves to replace their open fires.
The energy efficient stoves are approximately 50% more efficient than an open fire. In addition to the saving in greenhouse gas emissions, the reduced need for firewood leads to a corresponding reduction in the amount of time spent collecting the material.
The types of equipment and technologies that are implemented for each area are based on an assessment of the local community, to ensure that the equipment is suitable for the people within the project area.
